The common narrative is  that if you aren’t downing a fixed minimum of eight 8-ounce glasses of water every single day, you are wandering around chronically dehydrated.

While the reality is that there is zero scientific evidence proving that everyone needs eight glasses of plain water a day.

You don’t need to get all your hydration from a water tap or big water jugs . Your body absorbs water from almost everything you consume either :

  • Fruits and vegetables like watermelons, cucumbers, and tomatoes, which are over 90% water.
  • Soups, teas, and juices.
  • Even coffee , the liquid in the coffee still provides a net gain of hydration to your body.

Let me give explaination on why this is a myth.  When you swallow gum, it travels down the esophagus to the stomach, just like any other food. The stomach breaks down what we eat with acids and enzymes.

The human digestive system can only process the sugars and oils in this sweet treat while the other waxes , resin are resistant to stomach acid and digestive enzymes.

Despite this resistance , chewing gum does not stay in the stomach for such long . The indigestible parts of gum move through the digestive tract relatively intact and are expelled from the body in the stool. The entire process typically takes a few days..

You Need Juice Cleanses or Teas to Detox

In my groceries stores, you will find detox teas, charcoal drinks, and 3-day green juice cleanses. The marketing pitches are highly persuasive: your body is full of sludge, heavy metals, and environmental impurities, and consuming this product is the  only way to purge them.

While in reality, You do not need to buy a juice to cleanse your body because you were already born with the most advanced,detoxification system known to science which are your liver and your kidneys.

How your body actually cleans itself ?

Your liver works continuously to break down chemicals, medications, and natural waste products, while your kidneys filter your entire blood supply dozens of times a day, expelling waste through urine.

Juice cleanses don’t assist this process. In fact, by stripping the fiber away from fruits and vegetables, juicing delivers a massive, rapid spike of fructos straight to your liver, actually causing it to work harder.
